“Selin Hoca’s approach is completely different from anywhere I have been before. She doesn’t treat symptoms — she looks at the whole picture. My chronic neck tension and headaches have reduced significantly since starting craniosacral sessions.”

Questions about
osteopathy.
What is craniosacral osteopathy?
Craniosacral osteopathy (CST) focuses on the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Using extremely gentle touch, the therapist detects and releases restrictions in this system to improve nervous system function, reduce tension headaches and restore whole-body balance.
What is the difference between osteopathy and physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy focuses on movement rehabilitation and musculoskeletal conditions. Osteopathy takes a broader whole-body view, including the craniosacral system, visceral structures and fascia. At Ulus Physiotherapy, both disciplines are integrated — Physiotherapist Selin Atalay holds both physiotherapy and osteopathic training, so you benefit from both in a single clinic.
Who is osteopathy suitable for?
Back or neck pain, chronic headache or migraine, postural imbalances, stress-related tension, TMJ dysfunction, movement restrictions and post-surgical rehabilitation. Suitability is determined individually at the initial assessment.
Where can I find osteopathy near Etiler in Istanbul?
Ulus Physiotherapy is at Akatlar Cebeci Caddesi No:34, Beşiktaş, Istanbul — minutes from Etiler, Levent and Bebek. TIFAO-trained Physiotherapist Selin Atalay provides craniosacral osteopathy in English.
Is osteopathy painful?
No. Techniques are applied gently and within your comfort threshold at all times. Craniosacral osteopathy in particular is extremely gentle — most patients experience deep relaxation during and after the session.
How long does a session last?
Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and include initial postural and clinical assessment, hands-on treatment and home exercise planning.
